ecotile interlocking floor tiles are the ideal floor covering for use in classrooms, design and technology, science labs, canteens and anywhere an attractive, hard-wearing, low maintenance floor is required. ecotile can be dry laid over any hard surface making it extremely quick and easy to install. ecotile consists of 6mm or 7mm thick interlocking tiles that are available in a variety colours and surface textures. ecotile is extremely durable and hard-wearing and should last well in excess of twenty years in a school or college. The tiles are easy to clean – even chewing gum won’t stick to it! ecotile is manufactured from up to 100% recycled compound and can be recycled again at the end of its life making it the environmentally friendly alternative to conventional floor coverings. Terms & Conditions of use:
- ecotile is not recommended for use outdoors
- If ecotile is being installed in an area exposed to direct sunlight (e.g. loading bay doors) or in an area where there are extremes of temperature it may be necessary to glue the tiles, contact us for further advice.
- ecotile must be fitted with a 5mm expansion gap between the tiles and any fixed point (walls and machinery)
- The minimum temperature at which ecotile can be installed is 15ºC. The tiles must be stored within the installation area at a minimum temperature of 15ºC for at least 24 hours prior to commencing installation.
- ecotile offers good resistance to petol and other hydrocarbons, however in the event of prolonged and excessive exposure the elastomer in the tiles can be damaged and may result in the tiles curling. In the event of a spillage clean the tiles and if you suspect the chemical has got under the tiles we recommend lifting and cleaning the underside of the tiles.
- Rubber tyres (car, motorbike & fork truck) contain a chemical that can cause staining on ecotile as well as other types of floor coverings (vulcanisation / plasticiser migration). This will not damage the tiles but we recommend using a darker colour to minimise the impact of the staining.
