ecotile ESD / Anti-static Floor Tiles - ESD flooring with gauranteed results for the life of the floor.

The world's no.1 interlocking floor tile - Patented ESD Flooring Technology

ecotile ESD is the world's leading ESD flooring product and is in wide spread use within electronics, telecommunications, automotive, aerospace chemical and defense manufacturing companies thrughout Europe and North America. Available in the 7mm standard tile, ecotile ESD a static dissipative flooring system, (also referred to as a conductive) which is also, by the nature of its static dissipative properties, anti-static. Static dissipative means that the resistance to ground is less than 1 x 109Ω (1 Gohm). These performance figures ensure that the floor complies with British Standard BS EN 61340 and the internationally standard IEC 61340.  Call 01707 800060 or email info@versatileflooring.co.uk to arrange a site survey or for a free sample.

Specification: ecotile ESD is fully compliant with BS EN61340 for use as a primary grounding source for EPA / ESD work areas.

ESD / Anti-static Performance & Results:
ecotile ESD
is offered with a life time guarantee that it will retain its ESD performance and that the tiles will create a safe conductive floor surface that can be used as you primary ground. ecotile ESD has been extensively trialled and tested, the resistance to ground (Rg) of ecotile ESD is between 104 – 107Ω and the surface resistance falls between 3.0 x 104 Ω and 3.4 x 104 Ω. The contact resistance is between 3.6 x 105Ω and 9.5 x105Ω. The test results guarantee that ecotile ESD complies with British Standard BS EN 61340-5-1:2001 and the internationally recognised standard IEC 61340.

Key Benefits

  • Guaranteed ESD Performance - Meets BS EN / IEC 61340-5-1:2001 for life of the floor.
  • Simple Installation - Minimal disruption, just overlap and tap ... no adhesive required.
  • Smart Modern Appearance - Precision engineered interlocking joint
  • Chemically-Resistant - Resists most chemicals and fluids
  • Reduces Dust - Keeps equipment, products and work areas clean
  • Exceptional Durability - Resistant to impact, vibration and abrasion
  • Safe - Excellent slip-resistance, low risk of slipping even when wet (R10).
  • Warm & Quiet - Insulates from cold and damp  and significantly reduces noise
  • Fire Retardant - Tested to EN ISO 13501-1 Class Bfl s1 & BS 476: Part 7 Class 2
  • Better Performance - Longer lasting and easier to maintain than resin , vinyl and carpet
  • Lower Life Cycle Cost - Does not require expensive repair and replacement
  • Easy to Move & Re-Use - Easy to lift and move or where access is needed to the subfloor

"Following our conversation the other day I’m writing to confirm the acceptance criteria we measure conductive floors against; The European ESD standard IEC 61340-5-1 requires floor conductivity to be between 106 & 109 ohms. Typically 107ohms will be expected on a clean conductive floor that is well maintained. There are two tests for conductivity, surface resistance and surface to ground. The only meaningful test is surface to ground where I expect to see 107 ohms or less. Readings higher than this indicate decreasing maintenance. I am pleased to say EcoTile ESD performs better and has maintained its conductivity after a prolonged period of use, and it is easier and cheaper to maintain than the other types of esd floors we have used that require regular maintenance and the application of specialised coatings" Quality Manager Surface Technology International Ltd"

Terms & Conditions of use:
  • ecotile is not recommended for use outdoors
  • If ecotile is being installed in an area exposed to direct sunlight (e.g. loading bay doors) or in an area where there are extremes of temperature it may be necessary to glue the tiles, contact us for further advice.
  • ecotile must be fitted with a 5mm expansion gap between the tiles and any fixed point (walls and machinery)
  • The minimum temperature at which ecotile can be installed is 15ºC. The tiles must be stored within the installation area at a minimum temperature of 15ºC for at least 24 hours prior to commencing installation.
  • ecotile offers good resistance to petol and other hydrocarbons, however in the event of prolonged and excessive exposure the elastomer in the tiles can be damaged and may result in the tiles curling. In the event of a spillage clean the tiles and if you suspect the chemical has got under the tiles we recommend lifting and cleaning the underside of the tiles.
  • Rubber tyres (car, motorbike & fork truck) contain a chemical that can cause staining on ecotile as well as other types of floor coverings (vulcanisation / plasticiser migration). This will not damage the tiles but we recommend using a darker colour to minimise the impact of the staining.
