Cambridge Consultants are a cutting edge electronics company involved in developing a wide range of products. This requires their R and D and manufacturing facility to be extremely flexible and versatile – including the ESD floor. Cambridge Consultants have installed over 350m² of ecotile ESD conductive and anti-static floor tiles in their production laboratory and stores. The interlocking tile system allows access to the raised floors underneath and ensures speed and ease of installation. Constat tiles are impregnated with millions of tiny metal fibres to allow the dissipation of an electric charge across the surface of the floor creating a quick and easy anti-static surface. To make the floor conductive for higher risk environments such as at Cambridge Consultants, a conductive grid is laid under the tiles with a grounding kit every 30m² that is plugged in to the mains electricity supply. The versatility of the interlocking tile system allows the customer to create areas in front of workstations or to cover the whole floor.
