ecotile selected for Homebase retail outlets

In the last 12 months we have completed 8 projects at Homebase stores at various locations throughout the UK. The concrete and epoxy floors are under constant stress from forklifts unloading deliveries and the goods being distributed throughout the store on smaller vehicles. The path of these vehicles is always the same so certain areas of the floor between the warehouse and the store are subject to enormous wear and are consequently degrading. ecotile Standard provided the perfect solution to this problem. It wasn’t necessary to repair the crumbling substrate as the tiles are thick enough to compensate and to protect the floor from further damage and the tiles do not need to be stuck down so the ecotile floor could be installed quickly with no disruption to the running of the store which is essential to a retail operation. The interlocking tile system allowed Homebase to lay the tiles only in the areas they were needed offering significant financial benefits. Interlocking ramp sections are used to eliminate any trip hazard where customers and staff walk from the existing floor on to the ecotile covering with the contrasting colour of the ramps working as an extra safety feature.
