The last five years have seen a huge increase in the demand for esd, anti-static and conductive flooring as even a small surge of electricity generated by someone passing an electrical charge from themselves to a piece of equipment can result in damage to the equipment and a loss of data. The versatility of the interlocking tile system has proved to be hugely advantageous. Our anti-static ecotile ESD tile is created by impregnating the PVC with millions of tiny metal fibres at the point of manufacture, ensuring that the anti-static performance is guaranteed for the lifetime of the tile. The second major advantage of the ecotile ESD system is that the tiles can be lifted to allow access to the wiring underneath the floor. Many applications require a conductive rather than an anti-static floor which means that the floor is grounded rather than simply dissipating any charge through the tiles. This can easily be achieved with ecotile ESD by simply laying a copper grid under the ecotile ESD floor. A grounding cord is then attached to a ecotile ESD tile at intervals and plugged in to the mains. The versatility and simplicity of this system has recommended it to many companies with an anti-static / conductive flooring requirement including Microdoft, HP, Toshiba, BT, Motorola and the MoD to name but a few.
